Orcish Inn Wiki

This article covers the basic events happening in Orcish Inn, not including the activities a player can pursue, like farming, animal husbandry, fishing and more.

Quests[ | ]

Quests are a good way to get to reputation, money and special item rewards, like recipes for new furnitures. Characters like the hawker, some visitors or a shaman in the swamps (in tutorial mode only) offer quests with a specific task the player has to complete.

Quests are shown at the screen's left. The color of the icon represents the state of the quest.

Hawker[ | ]

The hawker is an orcish trader in a hot-air balloon who visits the player every midday, except during very bad weather. He normally flies to a hawker post the player can build. The hawker buys and sells all sort of stuffs, including yeast which is necessary to brew beer or winter care packages, which contain some crops, which are difficult to get during winter. He also offers a special, random item every day, like a big bag.

Hawker

Every midday, a trader in a hot-air balloon visits the player. Walking near him and opening the seed pouch or basket allows the player to trade items.

Pub Brawls[ | ]

Pub brawls occur if one of the visitors' aggression exceeds a certain threshold. He starts a fight with others or with the player. Furniture can get damaged and the player can get knocked out. Luckily the player can pay a round to stop a pub brawl or try to lower the aggression in the first place, for example by serving beer with a lower alcoholic strength or reducing the beer and bed prices in the hub book.

Pub brawl

If the aggression of a visitor exceeds a threshold, he starts to brawl.

Daytime[ | ]

There are four daytimes in Orcish Inn: dawn, midday, dusk and night. They affect various things, like stamina regenerated during sleep, if and how many visitors come, if they stay a night and more. Stamina drops during dusk and even more during night.

Icon Daytime Length (s)
Dawn Dawn 150
Midday Midday 500
Dusk Dusk 150
Night Night 200

Weather[ | ]

The weather changes in random intervals to random following weathers. They all affect different parts of the game, like how many visitors come and how long they stay. The current weather is especially relevant for farming, as it influences the ground properties, namely wetness, eutrophy and windbreak. The current weather has an own probability distribution for every possible following weather, so it's more likely that a light rain gets cloudy or a medium rain than a heavy heat. Some of weather can only occur in certain seasons.

Season[ | ]

There are four seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter. By default, a season covers 7 days. It affects different parts of the game, for example how fast plants grow, if they drop an additional crop, which weather can occur and more. Especially winter can be a challenging season, as no plants grow at all during that time.
